# Not - `v::not(v $negatedValidator)` Negates any rule. ```php v::not(v::ip())->validate('foo'); //true ``` using a shortcut ```php v::ip()->not()->validate('foo'); //true ``` In the sample above, validator returns true because 'foo' isn't an IP Address.
