Hover icon/touch side opens menu - or leave it open #2

1.) Thought better than clicking the icon it would be sufficient to hover it to open the menu.

2.) Also moving the cursor to the very left side of the browser window could open it.

3.) What do you think of adding a small bar on the left side which extense when hovered? Seeing attached image of "Akaunting"-Software

Created a better picture from within nextcloud. left from the blue line is default, right from the blue line is when you hover over the items. If the bar (left from the blue line) is permanent it should be added to the left, so it's not hiding underlaying information.

It depends of the possibility to insert a permanent element on the left and to not broke the nextcloud layout.

This is a problem with mobile and a pad (touch screen).

Then if feature maybe comes later it should better be an additional feature, so icon reacts to click and hover?!

The version 1.3.0 contains an option to enable hover on desktop. This option is not activated on touch screens.

Permanent menu is to hard to implement.
