Menue Items invisible after 1.8.4

After 1.8.4 update, which fixes the disabled menu option on public pages, there are no menue items shown anymore on "normal" user pages. I didn't realise it in the beginning because I just testet the fix. Can anyone else confirm this?

I downloaded the zip file from https://gitnet.fr/deblan/side_menu/releases/tag/v1.8.5 into /var/www/nextcloud/apps
I unziped it and told it to overwrite the old file
I opened nextcloud, it said that side_menu was had a updated, I updated it

I installed it in the same way @nsturtz did, I took the download from the 'releases' page. With that it is working again on my system. Thank you for fixing it.

Very strange indeed. At first I took the file deblan posted in this thread and got trouble, too. Then I downloaded it again from the "official" releases page, disabled the addon in NC, deleted all side-menu files via FTP, uploaded the new ones via FTP, cleared browser cache and enabled the addon again. Et voilà - it is working :-)
