Description

Add an option (maybe limited to the "always visible" style) to toggle whether the expanded menu is visible, and leave it expanded until collapsed.

Benefits

The current "always visible" style relies on the icon for navigation.

With the hover option enabled, users can better learn which icon is which app. But then they always have the side-menu slide out all the time.

A user option to toggle the menu to not be an overlay, but to shove all the main content to the side like a permanent sidebar, would offer a way out. Toggle the menu to show a sidebar all the time; collapse once you need the space or prefer to only show the icons.

I attached a mockup with a CSS customization that shoves the content to the right by 290px (the max width of the side-menu).
