Feature

Existing Problem

  • I have the default sidebar menu, on the left
  • It feels more intuitive to have my logo to the left of the menu (menu after logo in settings), so when I want to go to the main page of my cloud, it is in the very top-left corner
  • However as the menu appears from the left, this becomes odd as the menu opener is to the right of this, so it makes some intuitive sense to have menu before logo in the settings too

Description

  • Add a link to the main page of the installation to the logo as displayed inside the menu. When I open the menu and click on my logo/avatar, I will be redirected ot the main page, and hence the default app, of my cloud.
  • I use the logo to get to the main page quite often, in particular for testing the installaiton and checking everything is working as expected after chanigng settings

Benefits

  • General configurability (you have added lots of options, which is great!)
  • For my situation, I can just display the menu opener in the top bar. To get to the main page, I can open the menu and click on the logo
    • This means there is just one item in the top-left, which helps as at times when I am concentrating I confuse the two
    • It means the menu opener can be in the (top-left), which is a sensible place to put a hamburger-style opener, whilst I can still click on the logo to get to the main page
    • If I have the menu set to open on hover
      • having just one element in the top-left makes this easier in mouse movement
      • Just one hover and one click opens my main page
  • Should be quite a quick change to make
  • Is pretty unobtrusive; it could be turned on or off in the settings, but it doesn't really change anything existing as the image does nothing when clicked currently
